Membership Types

The Kawartha Lakes RC Flying Club has several types of membership:

  • Regular members:  who must be eighteen years of age as of January 1st.

  • Junior members:  who must be under eighteen years of age as of January 1st.

  • Non-Flying members

  • Affiliated Flying Member

Note: All members must also be a member of MAAC

Each member shall continually maintain his membership in the Model Aeronautics Association of Canada (MAAC) and should he allow such membership to lapse, he shall immediately lose any rights he may have or have been given to use the flying site and such rights, if any, shall not be re-instated until such time as his MAAC membership has been renewed and d the club has been provided with proof of the renewal.

An Affiliated Flying Member

  • Is a person who wishes to fly at the KLRCFC flying field while still being a full member of another MAAC-sanctioned Club. This type of membership is intended primarily for members of other clubs who wish to frequently fly at our field.

  • shall be subject to all the same rules as a full member of  KLRCFC’ and have the same responsibilities, including ensuring that they are qualified to fly and their equipment is acceptably-safe. They shall not, however, have voting rights or be allowed to bring guests to fly.

  • is offered to any full member of another MAAC-sanctioned Club but the number may be restricted if KLRCFC finds that its facilities are being taxed as a result.
